The latest buzz around Mani Ratnam's next is that the film has been tentatively titled asPookadai. According to sources, the movie will be an intense love story based on the sensitive issue of plight of Rameshwaram fishermen at the hands of Sri Lankan Navy. The film will have actor Karthik's son Gautham in the lead role. Though the leading lady is yet to be finalized, there are reports that Parthiban's daughter Keerthana (of Kannathil Muthamitaalfame) or Radha's younger daughter Thulasi may be roped in. Earlier Samantha was screen tested for the role, but Mani Ratnam was not happy with her perfromance.
Veteran cinematographer Rajeev Menon and music director A.R. Rahman will reportedly be a part of this project. More details are awaited!
